William Haggas’s Term Of Endearment (Sea The Moon) earned her fourth Group or Listed level prize yesterday after being ridden along inside the final few furlongs of Bath’s 1m6f Listed EBF Beckford Stakes to see off a determined challenge from Fairy Glen (Farhh) by half a length. Johnny Murtagh’s Siege Of Troy (Siyouni) finished a further two and a quarter lengths back in third.
Bred by Andrew Whitlock and now carrying the colours of Zhang Yuesheng, the six-year-old has passed twice through a sales ring, fetching 50,000gns as a yearling at Book 3 of the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale and realising 1,300,000gns at last year’s Tattersalls December Mare Sale, knocked down to Red Bank.

Trained by Henry de Bromhead in her previous four seasons, she won the Gr.3 EBF Give Thanks Stakes for that yard in August 2023 and last year added both the Gr.3 Bronte Cup Fillies’ Stakes and Gr.2 Lillie Langtry Stakes to her CV.
A half-sister to five winners, including the NH Gr.3 winner and multiple NH Gr.1-placed Cerberus (Iffraaj), she is out of the Listed John Musker Stakes victrix Miss You Too (Montjeu), who was also placed in the Gr.1 Criterium de Saint-Cloud and is a full-sister to the winner and Gr.3 Killavullan Stakes runner-up Vitruvian Man.
